24 Oct 2025
@6.30pm

His music is vibrant, energetic, and spiritually driven, reflecting his heritage and life philosophy of goodwill, peace, and love for humanity. With compositions that are both politically charged and deeply rooted in his cultural background, Ubong’s sound has drawn comparisons to prominent UK artists such as Shabaka Hutchings and Sons of Kemet, yet remains distinctly Nigerian.

Etuk has developed his original style, which he calls “Earth Music.” Often fast-paced and thought-provoking, his performances feature his band called Etuk Philosophy.

“Bloody hell Etuk Ubong ‘Purpose Of Creation’ is fantastic, where does that dirty crunchy sound come from” Gilles Peterson, BBC 6 Music

Etuk’s live performances have taken him to prestigious venues and festivals across the UK, Europe, and beyond. His notable performances include the Roundhouse and Jazz Café in London, Ronnies Scott, and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as multiple appearances at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and Africa Festival Hertme in Netherlands. He will also be performing at WOMEX festival in Finland this October 2025.
